When I picked this book up at a local tourist hot-spot in Virginia I didn't figure I would be picking up a new favorite book. The book starts out with the murder of Dylan Vogler, the manager of a coffee shop in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Fransisco. Just by knowing the setting of this book, you may be able to guess one of the themes of this book, the "victim less crime" as the author calls it. Despite having different opinions on the matter than the author, this was still a very enjoyable book. The main character is a Dismas Hardy, a SF lawyer, the story revolves around him and his struggles not only proving to the jury that his client(Maya Townsend) is innocent, but proving to him self that she is innocent. I won't go beyond that so as to not spoil the book, but I would have no problems recommending it even for people who are not fans of this genre, trust me I wasn't before I read this book.
