As an addicted Dooce reader, I loved the candid humor of this book. However, what works on a blog sometimes has a hard time translating to the page, and I think that was the case here, to some extent. Her tangents would go on forever, it seemed. Heather Armstrong's pregnancy was less than ideal, and she tells you all about it. The inability to urinate or defecate. The inability to sleep. The heartburn. And then there's the vaginal tearing at birth. She really doesn't sugarcoat anything. However, it's screamingly funny. I wholly commend her for discussing the horrific experience she had with post-partum depression, and think more new moms should read Heather and listen to her. She really shows what a strong woman she is, what a fantastic mother she is, and what a kind and loving wife she is. I absolutely admire her.
